The quartet from CC Aarau with Selina Witschonke, Carole Howald, Silvana Tirinzoni and Alina Pätz brought about the preliminary decision in the sixth end, in which they took a 5:2 lead with a house of four. In the ninth end, the Swiss women wrote another three stones, whereupon the Chinese gave up.
The four-time world champions and last year's runners-up are back in action on Sunday. Their third opponent will be Turkey.
