For coach Colin Muller's Swiss team, it was a rare victory against the Finns. The last ten games against the bronze medal winners of the last two World Championships were all lost. The last victory for the Swiss came two years ago with a 6:3 win in Falun.
Switzerland led 2:0 after 207 seconds. 37 seconds into the final period, the visitors took the lead again through Rahel Enzler. But it was Alina Müller who made it 4:3 with 51 seconds remaining to secure victory.
The Swiss will now face Sweden on Friday afternoon.
