Great joy in Aarau over Switzerland's qualification for the European Championship

The women's national team won their final European Championship qualifier in Aarau against Bosnia-Herzegovina 87:39. After four hours of waiting, it was clear that the Swiss were going to the European Championship.
The Swiss women first fulfilled their objective with the clear victory and optimized their starting position. Stéphanie Martinez contributed 20 points and 9 rebounds.
Switzerland finished the qualifying group in second place behind Montenegro. Under their new coach François Gomez, the Swiss won their last four games in the European Championship qualifiers.
In the end, the Swiss turned their attention to Gospic. If Croatia had won their home game against Austria by 18 points, it would not have been enough for the Swiss. Croatia still led 63:42 in the final quarter, but the Austrians reduced the deficit to 57:65 by the end.
The women's national team will take part in the European Championship finals for the fifth time and for the first time since 1956 (14th place). The European Championships will take place in Germany, Greece, Italy and the Czech Republic this summer.
