The Swiss women's national team has made a successful start to the second season of the Euro Hockey Tour. At the home tournament in Kloten, coach Colin Muller's team defeated Sweden 4:0.
The Swiss goals were scored by Alina Müller and, in the final third, Alina Marti, Rahel Enzler and Laura Zimmermann (into the empty net).
This was a first for the Swiss as they kicked off the Olympic season: previously, they had not managed a single victory after 60 minutes in twelve games in the tournament series introduced a year ago. They had only come off the ice victorious once before: Just over a year ago, also in Kloten Schluefweg, with a 2:1 win after extra time against the Czech Republic.
The Eastern Europeans, who lost 5-2 to Finland in the opener, will be Switzerland's second opponents in the home tournament on Friday evening (19:00).
