The Swiss women's national team wins 2:0 in Turkey in the European Championship qualifiers. After their fourth win in five games, the Swiss women return to League A of the Nations League.

After a cautious first half, the Swiss lived up to their role as favorites after the break in Izmit. A double strike after around an hour by Lilian Schertenleib (58') and Ramona Bachmann (65') put the game beyond doubt.

Both times, national team returnee Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic had her foot in the game. First, after a long ball from Viola Calligaris, she passed perfectly into the middle, where Schertenleib, who had come on as a substitute at the break, was able to slot home. Seven minutes later, she beat the opposing goalkeeper after a through pass from YB striker Naomi Luyet, with Bachmann steering the ball over the goal line with her knee.

The Swiss only had to worry once in the first half when the Turks hit the crossbar with a header during a brief spell of pressure.

As hosts, Switzerland will play out of competition, so to speak, in next year's European Championship qualifiers. In the Nations League, however, they have already secured promotion back to League A ahead of their final match at home to Azerbaijan.
