The Swiss ice hockey players win their second game at the Euro Hockey Tour in Ängelholm. In Isabel Waidacher's 100th international game, they beat hosts Sweden 2:1 on penalties.

Just like two days earlier in the 2-1 defeat against Finland in the opening game, the Swiss fell 1-0 behind in the middle third against the tournament hosts. Coach Colin Muller's team did not equalize until just over three and a half minutes before the end of normal time. The 19-year-old Leoni Balzer from HC Davos scored her first goal for the national team to force overtime.

The game was finally decided in a penalty shoot-out. After all shooters had initially failed, Lena-Marie Lutz from HC Ambri-Piotta secured victory for Switzerland with the twelfth attempt in the penalty shoot-out. The success is flattering in view of the Swedes' clear advantage in chances.

Isabel Waidacher's anniversary game thus came to a pleasing end. The 31-year-old ZSC Lions forward, who only made the Swiss team at short notice due to numerous injury-related withdrawals and is back in the national jersey in the south of Sweden for the first time since the 2018/19 season, was not one of the penalty takers.

The Swiss will face the Czech Republic, who are still winless, on Saturday afternoon to conclude the tournament.
