The 26-year-old from Graubünden achieved her best World Cup classification to date in Italy. She finished on the podium for the seventh time, but for the first time she didn't have to settle for third place. Talina Gantenbein already set the best time in qualifying. In the final, however, she was unable to overtake 28-year-old German Daniela Maier, who went on to win her second World Cup.

In the men's race, which was won by German Florian Wilmsmann, Switzerland also had a representative in the grand final. However, Alex Fiva, the 2021 World Champion, had to settle for 4th place. Fiva started the final from an unfavorable position due to the worst qualifying time and was unable to correct this handicap. Nevertheless, the 38-year-old from Graubünden confirmed his good form this season. A week ago, Fiva celebrated his 14th World Cup victory in Val Thorens, his first in three years.

Tobias Baur in sixth place and Natalie Schär in seventh place rounded off the good Swiss result, although two top skiers, Fanny Smith and Saskia Lack, had to miss out due to injury. The 24-year-old Schär qualified for the small final for the first time in her career.

There was another disappointment for Olympic champion Ryan Regez. The 31-year-old from the Bernese Oberland was eliminated in the round of 16, although he was in a promising position until shortly before the end.
