15 days after the 4:6 loss against Ambri-Piotta, the HCD suffered a second defeat in their 17th home game. Although Yannick Frehner rescued the Grisons into overtime with the 2-2 equalizer 114 seconds before the end of regulation time, the visitors from the Unterland took the extra point because they converted two of seven attempts in the penalty shootout, while only Simon Ryfors scored for Davos.

Because Lausanne had no game on Friday, Davos were even able to slightly extend their lead over their closest rivals to 15 points despite the defeat.

Meanwhile, Fribourg-Gottéron drew level with Lausanne in the table with a 5-1 win at bottom-placed Ajoie. They are followed by the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers (2:3 n.p. against Biel) and now Lugano, who defeated Kloten 4:1 at home without discussion. The SCL also celebrated a home win with a 3-1 victory against Zug.
