As Roger Schnegg, Director of Swiss Olympic, said on Tuesday on SRF's "Club", the International Olympic Committee contacted him: "The IOC asked us, I got a phone call from the person in charge. He wanted to find out what was going on here." The IOC expected "this matter" to be looked at seriously. According to Schnegg, no demands were made.
According to Schnegg, it is impossible to estimate what could have happened if Fischer had been caught with his fake Covid certificate at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing: "He certainly wouldn't have been on the sidelines. The extent to which the team and delegation would have been sanctioned or excluded is speculation. But as strict as the measures were in China at the time, I wouldn't rule it out."
