The New York Knicks are well on their way to advancing to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999. They also win their second home game against Cleveland (109:93) and take a 2:0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
After their magnificent comeback in the first game, which they won in overtime after trailing by 22 points in the final quarter, the Knicks' second victory was much more convincing. The home side led 53:49 at half-time before Josh Hart, otherwise better known for his work in the background, produced his best playoff performance to date with 26 points, seven assists and four rebounds.
The preliminary decision for the New York franchise, carried by their passionate fans at Madison Square Garden, came in the third quarter when they pulled away with an 18:0 run to 71:52. The Knicks haven't lost since trailing 2-1 to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the playoffs. They have now won nine games in a row and are the clear favorites to reach the final, which they last reached 27 years ago. The Knicks last won the title in 1973.
Game 3 will take place in Ohio on Sunday night Swiss time.
