Meier, in Devils' kit, equalized Suter's opening goal to make it 1-1 and then scored on a pass from Nico Hischier to make it 2-1. Suter, who had already scored after ten minutes, helped his team into overtime with an assist half a minute before the end of regulation time to make it 3-3.

Suter had already scored twice last Wednesday. The 28-year-old from Zurich now has 21 goals and 15 assists this season. Meier last scored twice at the end of October. The Appenzell native has 22 goals and 25 assists. The most successful Swiss NHL scorer this championship is still Hischier with 30 goals and 27 assists.

Despite the two scoring points, the performances of Meier and Suter had a flaw. Both took responsibility in the penalty shootout, but failed with their attempts.
