The Swiss freestyle snowboarders also miss out on advancing to the finals of the top twelve in slopestyle. Ariane Burri in 14th place is just ten points off the pace, Jonas Hasler in 19th more than 13 points.

Burri was still in a place in the final after the second of the three attempts, but then slipped out of the top 12. The chance of making it in the final attempt was dashed on the last jump, which the 25-year-old from central Switzerland was unable to complete.

In the men's event, Switzerland is still waiting for its first ever appearance in the slopestyle final at the Olympic Games. Jonas Hasler was probably not happy about the qualification being brought forward from Monday to Sunday (due to the weather forecast). The 19-year-old from Thurgau, who lives in Graubünden, was recently ill in bed with the flu. Nevertheless, he managed two runs without any major mistakes. But the difficulties he showed were not enough.

16th place in the halfpipe is Hasler's best ranking at his first Winter Games. He finished the big air competition in 24th place. Burri came 14th in slopestyle and 19th in big air.

This meant that the Swiss freestyle snowboarders did not take part in any of the finals at the Games in Livigno. Before the slopestyle, they had also failed to qualify in the halfpipe and big air. A poor result that had been on the cards, not least because two former halfpipe medallists, Iouri Podladtchikov (2014 Olympic champion) and Jan Scherrer (2022 Olympic bronze medallist), were unable to compete due to injury.
