Swiss goalie Akira Schmid had to take note of the stage win as a spectator. He has not been in the lineup since the beginning of April. His last appearance was on March 21, after which the Emmental native made five more substitute appearances.
The Knights will now face the qualification winners Colorado Avalanche in the semi-finals.
The Montreal Canadiens are also on course for the semi-finals. The 6:3 away win over the Buffalo Sabres gives them a 3:2 lead in the series and thus two match pucks.
