Whether Therese Johaug will continue her career remains to be seen. The 36-year-old had returned from retirement especially for this season with the home World Championships in Trondheim.

Nadja Kälin finished in 10th place. 23-year-old Kälin finished directly behind the American Jessie Diggins, who secured the overall World Cup. Nadine Fähndrich finished in 18th place.

Three mistakes at the end

Biathlon - Lena Häcki-Gross missed out on a top ranking in the mass start in Oslo, which she won a year ago and reaffirmed her ambitions with third place in the pursuit on Saturday, only in the last shooting. Three more penalties knocked her out of the top 20, while Amy Baserga showed an improvement. She finished 14th in the victory of Germany's Franziska Preuss, who snatched the big crystal globe from Lou Jeanmonnot.
