Angelica Moser in the pole vault final, Maud Jayet with her second attempt at a sailing medal and Albane Valenzuelas in her third Summer Games: Wednesday's Olympic highlights.

Athletics. Angelica Moser will compete in the women's pole vault final on Wednesday from 18:15 at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis. The 26-year-old European champion made a perfect start to the Olympic competition on Monday. She cleared both 4.40 and 4.55 m in her first attempt and thus qualified for the final of the top twelve. Ditaji Kambundji (100 m hurdles, 1st round at 10.15 am), Jason Joseph (110 m hurdles, semi-final at 7.13 pm) as well as Jonas Raess and Dominic Lobalu (5000 m, 1st round at 11.10 am), who is running for the refugee team, will also be competing on the fifth-last day of the Games.

Sailing. Maud Jayet will be making a second attempt at the Medal Race in the ILCA-6 class off the coast of Marseille on Wednesday. The 28-year-old Frenchwoman, who could win Switzerland its first Olympic medal in sailing since Bernard Dunand in Mexico in 1968, will start the final competition at around 12.15 pm in fourth place in the intermediate classification, which was postponed on Tuesday due to light winds. The medal race is also on the program for the duo Yves Mermod/Maja Siegenthaler in the mixed 470 (from 15:43).

Golf: Thanks to Albane Valenzuela and Morgane Métraux from western Switzerland, two Swiss women will be taking part in the women's Olympic golf tournament starting on Wednesday. For the 26-year-old cosmopolitan Valenzuela, this will be her third participation in the Summer Games, and for Métraux, who is one year older, her second. So far, Valenzuela has finished 18th and 21st and Métraux 51st. Led by US star Nelly Korda, the daughter of former tennis player Petr Korda, the world's top 15 are all in contention. The two Swiss women start their first round at 11.06 a.m. (Valenzuela) and 11.17 a.m. respectively.
