The women's national handball team is now mathematically unable to reach the quarter-finals at the World Championship in Holland. The Swiss women conceded their third defeat in a row against Denmark in Rotterdam, losing 23:36.
As expected, the Swiss were up against it against the former world champions and three-time Olympic champions from Denmark. After all, the Swiss led 5:3 at one point before conceding seven goals in a row.
The World Cup, in which the Swiss achieved their first two victories ever in the preliminary round against Iran (34:9) and Senegal (25:24), comes to an end on Sunday with the last main round match against Romania.
