The double scull with Raphaël Ahumada and Kai Schätzle was only beaten in the semi-final by Serbia's Nikolaj Pimenov/Martin Mackovic by 1.19 seconds. The pair from Vaud and Lucerne had triumphed two weeks earlier at the World Cup in Varese.

The pair without Patrick Brunner and Jonah Plock, third in northern Italy, also came second in the semi-final behind the Romanians Florin Sorin Lehaci/Florin Arteni, who are rowing in a league of their own. The Swiss women's double sculls with Célia Dupré and Lisa Lötscher also reached the A final thanks to a 2nd place. The pair were only beaten in the semi-final by Romania's Simona Radis/Maria Magdalena Rusu.
