After 18 victories in the World Cup, Slovenian ski jumper Nika Prevc has been crowned world champion for the first time.
In the rain in Trondheim, the 19-year-old sister of the three Prevc brothers clearly beat Germany's Selina Freitag and local Anna Odine Ström with jumps of 98 and 100 meters.
Freitag is also a well-known name in ski jumping circles. Selina is the sister of long-time World Cup jumper Richard Freitag. After five (out of 27) decisions, nine countries have already won medals - the same number as at the entire Alpine World Championships.
Switzerland's Sina Arnet and Rea Kindlimann clearly missed out on qualifying for the top 40 competition.
