Three Swiss men's and two women's teams have cleared the qualification hurdle for the Beach Volleyball World Championships in Adelaide in mid-November, according to the association.
At the Challenge tournament in Veracruz, Mexico, which ended on Sunday, points were awarded for the last time for the World Championship ranking. Both Yves Haussener/Julian Friedli and Adrian Heidrich/Jonathan Jordan took advantage of this last opportunity and secured their ticket for Australia after all with a strong final spurt. Marco Krattiger/Leo Dillier will also represent Switzerland: the duo secured their participation via the World Ranking.
The two top Swiss women's teams Anouk Vergé-Dépré/Zoé Vergé-Dépré and Tanja Hüberli/Leona Kernen also secured their participation early via the World Ranking.
The Beach Volleyball World Championships take place every two years. From November 14 to 23, 48 teams of each gender will be competing for the medals in Adelaide.
