Kadetten Schaffhausen secure an important victory in Croatia on matchday 3 of the European League. Kriens-Luzern outclassed Iceland's champions, and BSV Bern held their own against Kiel for a long time.

BSV Bern kept the duel with four-time Champions League winners Kiel evenly poised until seven minutes after the break. Only then did the Germans, led by Switzerland's Lukas Laube, pull away to a comfortable 35:27 victory. The Bernese, who are still without points in the challenging group of four, will face Kiel again next Tuesday.

Kadetten Schaffhausen are well in the race to qualify for the main round. The Swiss champions overtook the former club of their coach Hrvoje Horvat in the table with a 30:29 away win against the Croatians from Nexe Nasice. Luka Maros, Kadetten's top scorer with nine goals, scored the decisive 30:29 shortly before the end. It was thrilling right to the end, as the Swiss surrendered a five-goal lead in the course of the second half.

Kriens-Luzern are also in a good starting position, celebrating their second victory in the group stage against Fram Reykjavik with a commanding 40:25. Just a few days after their cup exit against Pfadi Winterthur, the Central Swiss side did not let anything get to them, even without the injured Jonas Schelker, Jérôme Müller, Marin Sipic and Marko Milosavljevic. In their first European Cup home game in the new Pilatus Arena, they already had an unassailable 23:11 lead at the break. Lucerne's top scorer was Marc Bader with nine goals.
