The 24-year-old from Davos finished fourth in his very fast and extremely high-caliber semi-final and made it through to the final. In the final, he was clearly beaten by Johannes Hösflot Klaebo, Edvin Anger, Federico Pellegrino and Lucas Chavanat. He was 2.2 seconds off the second World Cup podium of his career. Only once before, in third place in Lahti last March, has the man from Graubünden been better.

Janik Riebli's second place in the prologue stunned everyone - including himself. In the quarter-finals, he ran skillfully once again before his legs no longer played along on the demanding course in Silvaplana.

Sweden's Jonna Sundling won the women's race ahead of Norway's Kristine Skistad and her compatriot Maja Dahlqvist. Alina Meier was the best Swiss athlete to be eliminated in the semi-finals. In tenth place, the strong fourth in the prologue finished in the top ten for the fourth time in her career.
