Anouk Vergé-Dépré and Joana Mäder only fail in the final at the Elite16 tournament in Vienna. The Swiss duo lost to the favored Germans Svenja Müller/Cinja Tillmann 14:21, 18:21.
In the first set, Vergé-Dépré/Mäder held their own until 13:15, but in the second they did not win another point after 18:18. The previous semi-final against the Americans Terese Cannon and Megan Kraft had taken a lot of energy. After losing the first set, the Swiss women improved and decided the match 16:21, 21:17, 15:12 in their favor.
For Anouk Vergé-Dépré and Mäder, it was their first appearance in the final since the Elite 16 tournaments were introduced as the highest level in 2022 and a small consolation for missing out on the Olympic Games in Paris. Switzerland will be represented there by Tanja Hüberli/Nina Brunner and Esmée Böbner/Zoé Vergé-Dépré. The former decided not to take part in Vienna, while Böbner/Zoé Vergé-Dépré were eliminated in the quarter-finals.
