In the sixth short track race of the season, there are two Swiss women on the podium. Alessandra Keller wins, Ronja Blöchlinger comes third.
Keller came out on top in Pal Arinsal, four seconds ahead of World Cup leader Evie Richards from Great Britain. A further six seconds behind was the surprising Blöchlinger, who reached the podium in the elite for the first time. With Nicole Koller (5th) and Ramona Forchini (10th), two more Swiss women finished in the top 10.
"Andorra is a wonderful place for me," said Keller, who celebrated her first victory in a year. "I am very, very happy that I was able to win here again." The 29-year-old from Nidwalden had already triumphed on this course in 2018, 2022 and 2023.
In the men's race, Frenchman Luca Martin took his first World Cup victory in the elite category. The 23-year-old beat the big favorite Christopher Blevins from the USA in the final sprint.
The best Swiss rider was Filippo Colombo in 4th place, while Nino Schurter was involved in the crash of co-favorite Victor Koretzky on the final lap and had to settle for 10th place.
The two races should have taken place in the evening, but were brought forward due to a storm warning.
