Vingegaard storms into the leader's jersey in the queen stage

Jonas Vingegaard shows the competition the limits in the 5th stage of the Tour of Catalonia. The Dane won the first mountain top finish as a soloist and also took the overall lead.

The two-time Tour de France winner, who will compete in the Giro d'Italia for the first time in May, goes into the final weekend with a lead of 57 seconds over Felix Gall. The Austrian crossed the finish line on Friday in second place, 51 seconds behind Vingegaard.

Remco Evenepoel, Vingegaard's supposed biggest rival in the battle for overall victory, lost touch on the final climb and crossed the finish line over a minute and a half behind.
