Visp turned around a 0:1 deficit in front of 4,252 spectators, which had already been turned around in the 4th minute by a deflection from Dario Kummer. In the middle third, the shot ratio was 10:2 (total 26:18) in favor of the visitors. The reward for their dominance was the equalizer from Fadri Riatsch, who was spot on after Dario Burgener had initially failed to score alone in front of Basel goalie Fabio Haller. Alessandro Lurati scored the decisive 2:1 in the 46th minute in the power play. With 74 seconds remaining, Burgener made it all clear for the fourth-placed team with an "empty-netter".

Visp now need two more wins to win the championship title in Switzerland's second-highest league for the fourth time after 1960, 2011 and 2014. In that case, the loser of the relegation playoffs between Lugano and Ajoie would qualify for the league - Basel is not eligible for promotion.

The fourth final game will take place on Sunday in Visp. The team from Upper Valais is still unbeaten in these playoffs in front of a home crowd and has only lost twice.
