In the final, the shooter from Solothurn fought a thrilling duel with Damla Kose from Turkey and only just missed out on the title. The gap between the two athletes remained minimal throughout the final and never exceeded one point. In the end, Damla Kose prevailed 15:14.

Vivien Jäggi's silver medal provided a conciliatory conclusion from a Swiss perspective. The medal remains the only one for the Swiss rifle team at this 10 m European Championships.

The competition was less successful for her teammates. Her sister Emely Jäggi and Audrey Gogniat, the Olympic bronze medallist from Paris, were eliminated in the qualifying round. The Swiss men also clearly missed out on the medals in the solo discipline: Fabio Wyrsch finished 41st and Jan Lochbihler 53rd.

However, the Swiss team had already won precious metal in Armenia: On Sunday, Jason Solari secured the bronze medal with the air pistol. The Swiss delegation thus returned from the continental championships with a total of two medals.
