Vivien Jäggi won gold in the junior category at the European Championships in Châteauroux, France, on Thursday. Vivien Jäggi won World Championship gold in 2023, while her then 14-year-old sister Emely took bronze in the same competition and almost qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games.
This time, things didn't go as planned for Emely Jäggi. In Châteauroux, she was among the top 3 in the intermediate rankings for a long time, but collapsed in the final series and dropped to 14th place. With Ekaterina Chenikova (6th place) and Alexia Tela (7th place), two other Swiss women reached the final of the top 8.
In the team ranking, which is calculated on the basis of the individual results, Switzerland was the clear winner. 1773 points even mean a junior European and world record.
