Oxana Vouillamoz and Tom Bouvart put in a strong performance at the European Figure Skating Championships in Sheffield, finishing in 5th place.
The pair finished in 5th place after the free skate - the best performance ever achieved by a Swiss duo at the European Championships.
Vouillamoz and Bouvart had already achieved an exploit in the European Championship short program on Wednesday. They finished in 6th intermediate place. They confirmed this performance around 24 hours later. Although Vouillamoz was unable to land one of her jumps, the total of 183.31 points was enough to move up one place in the final ranking.
Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava from Georgia secured victory with a superior score of 215.76 points. They distanced second-placed Minerva Hase and Nikita Volodin from Germany by around 12 points. The podium was completed by the Hungarian duo Maria Pavlova and Alexei Sviatchenko.
