For the first time, HC Ajoie, the team from the National League, has an advantage in the promotion/relegation playoff. The team from the Jura won Game 3 against Swiss League champions Visp 3-2 after overtime.
All three games in the league qualifiers were only decided in overtime. Visp had won game 1. In the second game, the Valais team led 3:0 before losing 4:5 after overtime. And in the third game, Visp scored the first goal again.
In the end, however, Ajoie was almost always closer to victory. The team from Jura dominated the game with 45:31 shots on goal. Ajoie led 2:1 until 47 seconds before the end, when Visp, without a goalie, managed to tie the game at 2:2 through Jacob Nilsson. In overtime, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare scored the winning goal after 86:10 minutes.
The two teams will face each other again in Upper Valais on Tuesday.
