In a duel between the two best teams in the Central Division, Winnipeg beat Dallas 4:1 in the NHL on Friday. The Jets with Grisons forward Nino Niederreiter are now ten points ahead of the Stars.
Dallas, who played without the sick Solothurn defenseman Lian Bichsel, only scored an honorary goal in the 57th minute in this top game. The Texans trailed 3-0 from the 27th minute against the Jets, who have won 36 of 37 games this season in which they led after two periods.
Kyle Connor with two goals and an assist and Mark Scheifele with three assists were the main contributors to Winnipeg's success, while Nino Niederreiter failed to score. The Canadiens lead the Western Conference with 96 points and also have two more points than the Washington Capitals, the best team in the Eastern Conference.
