Niederreiter and his teammates had everything under control in this game. They already led 4-0 at half-time, with Mark Scheifele shining with three points (1 goal and 1 assist).

Niederreiter, who had been without a goal in the last seven games, ended his personal drought with an assist to captain Adam Lowry's 4-0. The Grisons native now has 30 points - including 14 goals - to his name.

The two other Swiss players who were in action in the NHL on Friday night were also successful. Janis Moser and the Tampa Bay Lightning won 6-5 against Buffalo, while Lian Bichsel and the Dallas Stars defeated the Calgary Flames 3-2 after overtime. The Nashville Predators were also able to celebrate a win, although they were once again without their injured captain Roman Josi in their 5-3 win over Seattle.
