Olympic champion, but not world champion in Tokyo in three weeks' time: Sifan Hassan will not compete in the world championship marathon

Olympic champion Sifan Hassan will not be competing in the marathon at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in September.
She wants to concentrate on Sunday's marathon in Sydney, the Dutchwoman announced.
For the first time, this marathon will be one of the World Marathon Majors, the most important marathon races in the world, alongside six others, including those in London and New York.
"In two or three weeks, I don't even know if I will have recovered," Hassan explained, adding that she "can hardly run in the days after a marathon".
