The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers have announced an addition for the upcoming season. The young defenseman Daniil Ustinkov is moving from the ZSC Lions to the other end of Lake Zurich.
The 19-year-old Swiss U20 international with Russian roots was considered a promising candidate in the NHL draft a year ago, but was surprisingly not selected. Since his National League debut in February 2023, Ustinkov has played 45 games for the ZSC Lions in Switzerland's top league. However, he mainly played for the GCK Lions farm team in the Swiss League.
Ustinkov signed a two-season contract with the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers.
