The women of EV Zug also win their second game against the defending champions from SC Bern in the women's ice hockey play-off final. The women from Central Switzerland now have three championship pucks.
In the best-of-five series, the EVZ followed up their 7:1 win in front of their home crowd on Saturday with a 4:0 win in Bern on Sunday. The visitors were already 2-0 ahead after the first period thanks to goals from Noemi Neubauerova and Ivana Wey. The preliminary decision in front of 1562 spectators was made in the 6th minute of the third period when Rahel Enzler scored to make it 3-0. Nina Harju made sure of the final score three minutes before the final buzzer.
Head coach Daniela Diaz's team will have their first chance to win the championship title in a rematch of last year's final in Zug on Wednesday (7.30 pm). It would be the first since the EVZ returned to women's ice hockey three years ago. The Zug team had previously won the Swiss championship in 1998, 1999, 2004 and 2005.
