24 hours after qualifying for the Champions League semi-finals, EV Zug also wins against Kloten - 5:4 thanks to three goals in the final phase.
44 minutes had been played in Zug when Lukas Klok put Kloten 4:2 in front. With the fatigue of the European effort in their bones, the Zug team could have let their legs hang down. Instead, they turned up the heat and scored three goals in the space of just under ten minutes through Elia Riva, Dominik Kubalik and Nando Eggenberger. Riva and Eggenberger, the latter after a long injury break, scored for the first time this season, while the Czech top scorer Kubalik scored for the 15th time.
Zug desperately needed the win to stay in contention for the top six and direct play-off qualification. However, Kloten needed points even more urgently. The Zurich lowlanders failed to pick up a point for the fifth time in their last six games and remain in second-last place.
