Jahnoah Markelo celebrates his first goal for FCZ
Keystone
After two recent defeats, FC Zurich secure a 2:1 home win against Yverdon. City rivals GC miss out on victory in Lausanne at the last second.
FCZ made the difference in the 74th minute with the 2:1. Two players who had come on as substitutes shortly beforehand were decisive: Benjamin Mendy provided the pass to goalscorer Jahnoah Markelo. Long-serving FCZ player Antonio Marchesano had equalized for Yverdon with a penalty in the 58th minute. FCZ made it 1-0 after nine minutes through Steven Zuber.
For Grasshoppers, the 2:2 draw against Lausanne-Sport was a repeat of the misfortune of just under three weeks ago. The Zurich side initially managed to turn the game around against the Vaud side to make it 2-1 before conceding a late equalizer through Fabricio Oviedo. Oviedo struck in the 85th minute at the Letzigrund and in the 96th minute in Lausanne on Saturday evening. Adama Bojan had previously put GC 2-1 ahead with goals in the 55th and 60th minutes.
