Daughter Maggie Mull paid tribute to her father on Instagram. He had died at home "after a brave battle against a long illness". He excelled "in every creative discipline imaginable" and was always funny, she wrote. The actor, comedian and painter was 80 years old.

Friends bid farewell: "Martin was the greatest"

"Martin was the greatest. So funny, so talented, such a nice guy," wrote "Brautalarm" director Paul Feig (61) on the X platform.

Actress Jennifer Tilly (65) reminisced about the comedy film "Rented Lips" (1988), which they made together at the start of their careers. "He was such a funny, charismatic and kind person," she wrote on X.

Mull known through series and comedies

Mull had comedy roles in the 90s series "Roseanne" and "Sabrina - Total Verhext!". He appeared in the sitcom "Dads" and played guest roles in "Veep" (2016) and "Grace and Frankie" (2022).

He has also appeared in front of the camera for film comedies such as "Mr. Mom" (1983), "Mrs. Doubtfire" (1993) and "Kiss & Kill" (2010).
