  • Madonna suffered a breakdown and had to go into intensive care.
  • The singer had a "severe bacterial infection" that still won't leave her body alone.
  • She must now remain on bed rest until her body has recovered from this stress.

Madonna has left the hospital again, but she is not yet out of the woods because of her bacterial infection. According to TMZ, she is not yet ready for a world tour and is currently staying in bed.

Sources tell the portal that the Queen of Pop is struggling with severe nausea and vomiting and that the infection continues to weaken her body.

"TMZ" also reports that she is confined to bed in her New York apartment - and "fought tooth and nail" against being admitted to hospital last Saturday. Her assistant was at her side when she collapsed and accompanied her to hospital.

Not a sudden illness

According to various media reports, the 63-year-old had had a high temperature for several weeks - and had kept it a secret from friends and family. She feared that a medical examination could affect her tour around the world. Refusing to see a doctor could have worsened her current situation.

Her long-time manager Guy Oseary had announced that the start of the tour on July 15 would be postponed. When exactly the singer will be back on stage remains to be seen.

Although she really wants to hit the ground running, those close to her are currently advising her to take it easy for a while and give her body the rest it needs.
