What is the secret behind Parton's many years of success? According to insiders, she manages to hover between pop and tradition with her music. Well, the singer not only has a lot of stamina musically, she also proves this in her private life.
The singer has been married to her husband Carl Dean for no less than 57 years. Her husband, whom she met in a laundrette in Nashville in 1964, is "crazy, very funny and clever".
"And I got a great sense of humor from both sides of my family," Parton replies on the "Radio 2 Breakfast Show" when asked by presenter Zoe Ball about the secret of their long-standing relationship.
Parton's husband is always honest with the singer
According to Dolly Parton, a loving and respectful relationship has always been the basis of their relationship.
The singer can also rely on her husband's honest opinion to this day. Dean always tells her the truth, but never says it "in a cruel way".
When Dolly Parton recently asked her husband what he thought of her rock album, which will be released on November 17, she said she was "a little nervous".
But then Dean declared: "It's really good", which "meant the world" to the singer. For her, her husband's praise was the equivalent of a person "jumping up and down".
