He is one of the country's best-known comedians. But few people know it: Peach Weber is a Montreux fan. A conversation about wonderful moments on Lake Geneva, his worst concert - and why he still keeps coming back to Montreux.
He never misses the Montreux Jazz Festival. "It's become a tradition," says Peach Weber.
This year, the comedian traveled to the festival on Lake Geneva for the 27th time with a good friend. "The days in Montreux are relaxing for me, I don't usually go on vacation."
Peach Weber loves Montreux. And he loves the lake.
"Experiencing this legend up close was an experience"
For many years, the 69-year-old and his colleague lived in the "Elite", an old hotel box. After it was closed, they moved to other affordable accommodation. This year, they are now staying at the "Eden Palace au Lac" right on the lake.
"The music at the festival is only half the attraction," says Weber, who has also experienced the odd bad concert on Lake Geneva, as he reveals in the video interview.
However, the comedian will probably always remember a workshop with blues musician B.B. King. "Experiencing this legend up close was an amazing experience. You can only do that in Montreux."
