St. Gallen tops the trend list Remo Forrer: "I probably google myself the most"

What did Switzerland google in 2023? A look at the trends shows what we were most interested in this year. St. Gallen singer Remo Forrer is at the top of the list. "Unimaginable", he says himself.

For many people, life without Google is now unimaginable. Every day, we briefly enter a term into the search engine and stock up on information.

At the end of each year, the tech giant publishes a summary of what interested us the most. Google Switzerland has also provided information on this, as the Blick newspaper, among others, writes. However, the trends do not show the terms that were googled the most, but rather the topics in which interest increased the most.

Remo Forrer made it to the top of the list of Swiss personalities. He made it through to the final at this year's ESC and then finished in 20th place.

Remo Forrer can hardly believe it

"To be honest, it's actually unimaginable for me. Unrealistic," says Forrer in a telephone interview with blue News about his placing. "I thought to myself this morning: this can't be possible and I thought of 1000 other names who also had a very strong year."

However, he feels very honored by the top spot: "Of course, the ESC is a huge event, but it was already over in May. The fact that I still made it to the top is probably also a sign that I didn't just reach people during this time."

The singer has noticed his increased fame not only online, but also in his everyday life. "I practically went from zero to one hundred this year. That's pretty amazing," says Forrer, describing the increased interest.

"I can't go to Beck or go out with my colleagues without someone talking to me. But those are always mega nice moments for me. When people are happy to see me, it makes me happy, of course."

Forrer googles himself the most

He does have bad days or times when he would rather be on his own. But: "But that's definitely the exception, I really like to take time for people."

And what did Forrer himself google the most? The answer is surprising: "I can imagine that I myself am responsible for the Google trends. I probably googled myself the most."

However, this is not due to vanity, but rather to his busy schedule: "For example, if someone asks me when my next concert is, Google usually provides the right answer."
