Among those invited were Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai and Ivanka Trump, Indian billionaires Gautam Adani and Kumar Mangalam Birla, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood celebrities such as Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Salman Khan, Arijit Singh and Diljeet Dosanjh.
Rihanna collects nine million US dollars
Entertainment was to be provided by Bollywood singers, pop superstar Rihanna and magician David Blaine. According to Spiegel.de, Rihanna was offered almost nine million US dollars for the show. The equivalent of around eight million francs.
The Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the King and Queen of Bhutan were also due to attend.
Jamnagar, a city with around 600,000 inhabitants in the state of Gujarat, is home to the family itself as well as the most important oil refinery of their business empire Reliance Industries. Traditional ceremonies in a temple complex will also be part of the lavish celebration. On Wednesday, the Ambanis organized food for 51,000 people living in nearby villages.
The 28-year-old Anant Ambani wants to marry his long-time girlfriend Radhika Merchant - probably in July. She is the daughter of Viren Merchant, CEO of Encore Healthcare, and entrepreneur Shaila Merchant. The day-long party will be a foretaste of the actual wedding.

Dressed up in jungle costumes, guests are to visit the animal rescue center "Vantara" run by the husband-to-be.
