"I could write a book about self-hatred when it comes to the perception of my body," Robbie Williams writes on his Instagram account.

According to the 49-year-old singer, he suffers from dysmorphophobia. This is a psychological disorder in which those affected have a distorted perception of their own body.

This problem often occurs in people who have lost a lot of weight but still see their body as it looked before they lost it.

This also seems to be the case with Robbie Williams. He says: "If I could choose to fly or eat anything without losing my target weight, I'd choose food."

Robbie Williams: "And now you're old"

Robbie Williams says he is currently thin. But he still can't really be happy about it. "I say to myself: 'Great, Rob, you've managed to get thin and now you're old'."

In concrete terms, this means that no matter what his body looks like, the British pop star simply can't be happy with it.

The situation is a "fucking disaster", Williams writes. And continues: "It's a real struggle. The sadness is shocking. I've had it all my life and it just doesn't stop."

Robbie Williams emphasizes that he is not making his illness public to fish for compliments, but to get rid of it.

"And if someone recognizes themselves in the words I've written, maybe it will help us both," said the former Take That star.
