A funeral with her own family and friends was already clear, but now the Mirror reports that Tina Turner is to be cremated. This was announced by her assistant Eddy Hampton, who stood by her side for 20 years.
Tina Turner did not want a big public funeral. And: "She wanted to be cremated, I expect a small, very private event," said Hampton.
"It will be for her close friends in Switzerland - and her manager. It probably won't be a big family affair," he added.
When and where the funeral will take place is still open.
"Leaving the past behind"
The 65-year-old Hampton kept in touch with Turner, even when she moved to Küsnacht in 1994. He was by her side during her violent marriage to Ike Turner until she found happiness with Erwin Bach. Bach was with her when she died of natural causes last week.
Eddy Hampton also commented on the rest of Tina Turner's life. He said she had "put the past behind her" after losing her two sons.
Raymond took his own life in 2018 at the age of 59, Ronnie died of cancer in 2022 at the age of 62. Although she had adopted Ike's two sons, they lost contact after she moved to Switzerland.
