The billionaire confirmed the birth of the child in an interview with the "New York Post". However, he kept the name and gender of the youngest member of his family to himself. It was also not a "secret", he said, he had not "secretly conceived" the child: "All our friends and family knew. Just because we didn't release a press statement - which would be absurd - doesn't mean it was 'secret'," commented Musk.
The Tesla founder and Zilis are already parents to twins, who were born in 2021 - shortly before the birth of Musk's second child with musician Grimes. The latter is named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk.
"Standing up to the underpopulation"
The second richest person in the world, with an estimated fortune of 185 billion Swiss francs, is in favor of boosting the global birth rate. As he himself wrote in a tweet in 2022, the decline in births is "the greatest threat to our civilization" and he is "doing his best to stand up to the underpopulation".
The world's population is now around eight billion, compared with one billion in 1900 - by 2045 it is expected to be around nine billion.

Elon Musk is the father of twelve children with three wives. He had six children during his marriage to Canadian author Justine Wilson; they were married from 2000 to 2008. Their first child together died of sudden infant death syndrome when the baby was ten weeks old, Wilson confirmed.
The couple went on to have twins Griffin and Vivian in 2004 and triplets in 2006, named Kai, Saxon and Damian.
Musk now has three children with singer Grimes. They were born in 2020, 2021 and 2023 and are called X Æ A-12, Exa Dark Sideræl and Techno Mechanicus.
The 52-year-old now also has three children with Shivon Zilis, the twins are called Strider and Azure. The name of Musk's youngest child remains a secret.
