Phil Foden is temporarily leaving the England national team's European Championship training camp. The 24-year-old is traveling back to Great Britain due to "an urgent family matter".
This was announced by the FA in a short statement on Wednesday. No details were given. It also remained unclear when Foden would return to Germany.
The Three Lions will play their round of 16 match in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday (18:00). So far, Foden has been in the starting line-up of national coach Gareth Southgate in all three games as a left winger. However, the Manchester City professional has not been involved in either of England's goals.
