The momentum shifted back and forth in the lively game at Wankdorf. After giving Zurich an early lead with a handball penalty, the Bernese turned the game around by the 54th minute. However, the visitors found an answer again with Nikola Katic's header. As a result, the champions remain bottom of the table with one point.
Yverdon, also without points until Sunday, picked up their first point away at Winterthur. The two teams drew goalless in a game of modest quality.
The game in Lausanne, where St. Gallen won 4:3, was spectacular. The team from eastern Switzerland, who had led 4:1 at one stage, had to tremble again after conceding two goals in the closing stages, but managed to hold on to their narrow lead. The Vaud team had more chances and were annoyed by their lack of efficiency.
