Franziska Matile-Dörig finishes sixth in the road race at the Paralympics. Timothy Zemp finished 15th in Paris.

The 32-year-old Matile-Dörig fought until the very last second, but was ultimately beaten by a wafer-thin margin in the sprint by France's Marie Patouillet. Nevertheless, the result is all the more valuable because the categories were combined, and Matile-Dörig would even have come second in her traditional C4 category.

"It was an exciting race," said the bronze medal winner in the time trial, "I took a lot of risks and didn't always just win, but overall it was worth it." However, she was not unreservedly happy due to the lack of harmony within her four-strong chasing group and the passivity of her opponents: "Nobody wanted to lead, which was frustrating and so we were slow."

Zemp lost the connection early on

Timothy Zemp finished his first Paralympics in the road race in 15th place. The Zurich native from Kriens had a difficult start, which affected his race. "I was badly positioned on the first descent and then there was another crash and I had to slow down briefly. After that, the train had already left the station."
