The 26-year-old, who still lines up behind Yann Sommer in the Swiss national team, received the "International Class" rating for his performances in the second half of the 2023/24 season, the second-highest rating after "World Class".
In the second half of the season before last and the first half of last season, Kobel was already the number one goalkeeper in the Bundesliga according to "Kicker". This time, he came out on top ahead of Leverkusen's Lukas Hradecky, Leipzig's Peter Gulacsi and Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer.
