The Bundesliga clubs did not disclose the financial aspects of the transfer. According to consistent media reports, the Champions League finalists are said to have transferred the fixed transfer fee of a rumored 18 million euros for the player from Guinea to Swabia.
With 30 goals in 30 games, Guirassy played a key role in Stuttgart's upswing, which exceeded all expectations last season and finished in second place behind champions Leverkusen. The transfer was recently in limbo because it was initially unclear after the medical check whether the torn outer ligament in the knee would need to be operated on or not. This is now not the case, but Guirassy will not be available to BVB for the first few games.
Guirassy is the second key player from Stuttgart to move to the Ruhr region. Dortmund had already announced the signing of defender Waldemar Anton on Monday.
